Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across South America, IOM provides a comprehensive response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced persons, returnees and host communities.

UN National Networks on Migration have been created in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, which provide the following support to governments:
- Technical assistance on GCM objectives integration on national policies, action plans, and existing synergies with the implementation of SGDs.
- Technical support in the implementation of specific goals of the GCM.
- Capacity building for continuous and sustainable inclusion of all interested parties in the implementation, monitoring and revision of the GCM.
- Knowledge Management and information exchange (identification of good practices and lessons learned, implementation status, etc.).
- Participation in the Migration Network Hub.
- Proposal development for the implementation of the GCM through the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund.
- Coordination with other existing mechanisms within the UN teams in countries, including those related to the cooperation framework.
